The WPT Prime tour returns to Sanremo, Italy, following a hugely successful debut in 2023, and everything points to the 2024 edition being even bigger. The 2024 WPT Prime Sanremo festival runs from May 31 through June 10 at the Casino Sanremo. As always, you can win your way into the €1,100 WPT Prime Main Event online at WPT Global.
One player who is all but guaranteed to enter the €1,100 WPT Prime Sanremo Main Event is the reigning champion, Simone Andrian. The Italian pro burst onto the live poker circuit in 2021, winning the €1,650 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) No-Limit Hold’em 6-Max event for €158,616.
A couple of months later, Andrian reached the final table of the €1,700 WSOP Circuit Rozvadov Main Event before winning a €2,150 side event at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague festival.
The Italian’s blistering run continued with a victory in the 2023 WPT Prime Sanremo Main Event, worth €147,020 in June 2023, and an outright win in the €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) Castellon Main Event for €153,610.
More recently, in January 2024, Andrian took down the $2,200 Merit Poker Western Series Warm-Up event in Cyprus for $165,000.
