WPT Prime will make its debut at Card Casino Bratislava on May 3 for what could be another record-breaking tournament series.

WPT Prime SlovakiaWPT Prime Slovakia gets underway next week with a packed schedule, including a €500,000 guaranteed main event. (Image: WPT)The World Poker Tour’s (WPT) Prime series has already broken multiple records this year. Following on from a successful season finale in 2022, WPT Prime Paris took the tour to new heights in January with 1,071 entries. WPT Prime Gold Coast beat that record with 1,224 entries just a few weeks later.

Now it’s the turn of Bratislava, Slovakia, to welcome players from around the world and challenge the WPT Prime main event record. The two-week festival gets underway on May 3 and concludes on May 15 when another main event champion will be crowned.

WPT Prime goes big for Card Casino Bratislava debut

Card Casino Bratislava has long been a popular poker room, and the fact this is the first WPT Prime event to be hosted there could push the number of entries in the main event over the 1,000 mark. Another factor working in the €1,100 main event’s favor is its €500,000 guarantee.

Of course, as is always the case at WPT festivals, there’s more on the menu than a main event. There are dozens of events on the WPT Prime Slovakia schedule, including these highlights:

  • May 3: €330 WPT Bratislava Championship – €250,000 guarantee
  • May 7: €220 WPT Ladies Championship
  • May 8: €220 WPT NLH Championship
  • May 8: €150 WPT Turbo Madness
  • May 9: €220 WPT Seniors Event
  • May 9: €3,000 WPT High Roller – €100,000 guarantee
  • May 9: €175 WPT PLO Madness
  • May 10: €3,000 WPT PLO High Roller – €100,000 guarantee
  • May 11: €5,200 WPT Super High Roller – €100,000 guarantee
  • May 11: €1,100 WPT Prime Slovakia Main Event – €500,000
  • May 12: €5,200 WPT PLO Super High Roller – €100,000 guarantee
  • May 14: €1,650 WPT Mystery Bounty – €100,000 guarantee

That’s not an exhaustive list of events. WPT Slovakia will also feature low buy-in events, turbos, satellites and more. For a debut festival in Slovakia, the WPT’s tournament team is pulling out all the stops and for good reason. All five WPT Prime main events this season have had bumper fields, so the next one in Slovakia needs to keep up the trend.

With a packed schedule and a prizepool of at least €500,000 for the main event, the WPT is giving players plenty of reasons to ante-up in Card Casino Bratislava over the next two weeks. Therefore, we could see another WPT Prime record broken, this time in Slovakia.
