WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas Has Record $40 Million Guarantee - iGaming Player
The WPT World Championship of poker is set for December 12-21 at the Wynn Las Vegas and will feature a record prize pool of $40 million.
The WPT decided to expand the guarantee for the WPT World Championship, which increased from $15 million last year to $40 million this year.

By raising the guarantee, the WPT expects even more players will flock to the Wynn and take a shot at the prestigious title.
Eliot Hudon Banked $4.1 Million in 2022
The tournament organizers didnāt even come close to an overlay at the Wynn Las Vegas last December. The 2022 WPT World Championship attracted 2,960 entrants and generated a prize pool worth over $29 million, which nearly doubled the $15 million guarantee.
Eliot Hudon from Montreal, Canada was the last player standing at the Wynn Las Vegas, and he banked $4.136 million for winning the 2022 WPT World Championship. The WPT guaranteed $2 million to first place, and they didnāt have to sweat it. Thanks to the massive prize pool, the champion earned more than double the initial guarantee.
The 2022 WPT World Championship final table included Hudon, Benny Glasser, JC., Moussa, AdamAdler, Frank Funaro, and Colton Blomberg. Glasser, a British pro and five-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, finished in second place behind Hudon.
The 2022 WPT World Championship paid out 371 players, and Tony Dunst secured a min-cash when he busted in 371st place. Other noteworthy pros who went deep and cashed at the Wynn Las Vegas last year included Daniel Negreanu, Lynn Gilmartin, Kyna England, Jeff Madsen, Kane Kalas, Kristen Foxen, Cary Katz, Igor Kurganov, Brad Berman, Noah Boeken, Freddy Deeb, Brandon Cantu, Jeremy Ausmus, Richard Seymour, Eric Baldwin, Frank Kassela, Romain Lewis, Alex Keating, Dan Smith, John Monnette, Nick Binger, Jared Jaffee, Anthony Zinno, Espen Jorstad, Ben Yu, Kathy Liebert, Maurice Hawkins, and Christian Harder.
Wynn WPT Festival Begins November 29
The Wynn Las Vegas will host a WPT Championship festival to coincide with the WPT World Championship. This special holiday poker festival begins shortly after Thanksgiving and wraps up just before Christmas.
The WPT Championship festival kicks off on November 29 and concludes on December 23. The festival schedule features 30 events and most of them have guaranteed prize pools. The WPT World Championship and its $40 million guaranteed prize pool is the flagship event.
The holiday festival at the Wynn Las Vegas also includes the 2023 WPT Prime Championship, which has a $1,100 buy-in and a $5 million guarantee. The popular WPT Prime Championship begins on December 7.
The $1,100 buy-in WPT Ladies World Championship is a three-day tournament that begins on December 6, and has a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Thereās also a special charity-infused high roller at the Wynn Las Vegas. The $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop begins December 18.
Other notable guaranteed events at the Wynn Las Vegas include the $1,600 buy-in Mystery Bounty that has a $2 million guaranteed prize pool, a $3,000 NLHE tournament with a $3 million guarantee, and the Seniors (50+) $10,000 High Roller has a $500,000 guarantee.
Other fun non-Texas Holdāem events at the Wynn Las Vegas include the $1,100 HORSE Championship, the $3,000 Dealerās Choice Championship, and $10,500 PLO.
